Shield needs Full Disk Access to fully scan your Mac for harmful files, and that permission hasn't been turned on yet.
What this means
Without Full Disk Access, Shield can still protect your Mac, but some scans may be incomplete since macOS blocks apps from checking certain folders by default. Turning it on lets Shield check everywhere it needs to.
Steps
- Open the Shield app on your Mac.
- When prompted, click Open System Settings.
- Find Shield in the list and turn on Full Disk Access.
What to expect
Once it's turned on, this alert clears and your next scan checks your whole Mac, not just part of it.
