A device is deactivated when it's no longer using a slot in your plan, usually because a Guardian freed it up for another device.
What this means
Deactivating a device stops its protection and frees up its slot in your plan. This is usually done on purpose, like when a Guardian removes an old device to make room for a new one. Being offline by itself doesn't deactivate a device.
Steps
- Check Devices in your dashboard to see the device's current status.
- If you still use this device, reinstall Shield on it or ask a Guardian to add it back.
What to expect
Once the device is added back and Shield is running on it again, its protection status returns to normal.
