Starting Splashtop Shield takes less than a minute, and you can begin your free protection period without ever entering payment information.
Before you start
- Have the email address you want to use for Shield handy. That's where your welcome email and sign-in codes will be sent.
Steps
- Go to splashtop.com/shield.
- Enter your email address, agree to the Terms & Privacy Policy, then click Get Protected. You won't be asked for a credit card or any other payment details.
What to expect
You'll see a confirmation that you're protected, and we'll send a welcome email to the address you entered. Your free protection period starts right away on the Family Plan, so your whole household is covered from day one. Your device isn't actually protected yet. The welcome email walks you through installing Shield, which only takes a few minutes.
You're not locked into the Family Plan. When it's time to subscribe, you can keep Family or switch to Individual or Family Lite, whichever fits your household best. See Which Shield plan is right for you? if you're not sure which one to pick.
You don't need to set a password right away. Shield can sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email whenever you need it, and you can add a password later from your account settings if you'd rather use one.
If you don't see the welcome email
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it still hasn't arrived after a few minutes, contact our support team and we'll get your account sorted out.
